From the check-in process, to waving as I rolled out the door, I felt at home. Being my first surgery, I was very nervous. The incredible folks at check-in made me feel at home. Honestly, they set the tone and put my mind at ease. The nice woman (I am so sorry I forget her name) who took my info, she is a literal angel.
Nikki, although she stabbed me with a needle - also amazing. She walked me through the process, and honestly made me feel like it would all be fine. I enjoyed getting to know her.
Dr. Simon came in to shake my hand and was just incredibly kind. In hindsight, it was good sleep, and I appreciate him for that.
A nice group of folks injected something with an orange cap - and that was all she wrote, as they say. But they were all happy. Honestly, that makes all the difference. In a tense situation that quite frankly, I'd have rather not been in, the ladies and gentleman made me feel at home. As crazy as that sounds, it was as if they were proud to see me in that bed. I've always said healthcare professional are God-given, talented, anointed souls, and that was what I felt March 24.
Dr. Lock knew I was nervous, and he took care of me. He is an incredibly kind man. He handled each of my ridiculous questions with grace and patience. From the orientation to the follow up, just a genuine person.
Honestly - if there is a way for this to reach the entire staff, please allow it to do so. I appreciate you all, and I hope to never see you again.
But if I have to, I will choose you all again and again.
